The following instructions should get you through
installing your game, assuming you've done the easy stuff
up to this point.
Step 1: Make sure you have an unzipping program installed
on your computer like winZip or winRar. If you don't have it,
you can download it here.
http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Step 2: Once you have winzip or winrar installed double click
on the winrar archive you downloaded entitled "Catscan" (it's the one that
looks like a stack o' books). It should automatically open up in
winzip or winrar.
Step 3: Hit the button that says "extract to" (or something similar)
and choose somewhere to put the install file. I made my own folder on my
desktop called "catscan game" but you can do otherwise.
Step 4: Extract to said folder. If a box pops up saying there are multiple
anythings just say "yes to all".
Step 5: Now click on the file that says "Setup" with the picture of the
dude with a sword.
Step 6: Before hitting "Start Installation", you should click the "..." button
next to the box that says "Default Install Path". Choose somewhere to install the
game that's easy to find. I just put it on my desktop (you can always move it later).
Make sure the box is checked that says "include game uninstall option" and check the box
that says "add game shortcut to start menu" if you want a shortcut in your start menu.
Step 7: Hit Start Installation and wait for the game to magically install before your eyes!
Step 8: Your game is installed. A folder called "Catscan" should be where you chose
to install the game. In this folder is a bunch of confusing junk. Don't worry about that.
Scroll to the very bottom and find the file called "RPG_RT". This is your game! (You can also
find the game in your start menu under programs in a folder called "RPG Maker 2000" if you checked
that box.)
Step 9: Enjoy the game! Don't suck!
Optional Step 10: If you want to save space on your computer you can delete the install folder
and the zip file. Caution: Don't delete the folder you just installed called Catscan, because you
need it to play the game!
